Get Started

Permit expediters typically charge more than $3,500 to help eating establishments obtain a CUP from the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning.

For new restaurants working on limited budgets, we wanted to offer an alternative.

This self-guided permit course will introduce you to the process and then walk you through building your CUP application. It includes:

  • Application form download pack.
  • Video tutorials for each form.
  • A downloadable PDF instruction guide.

Two options with consulting hours are also available for those who want additional support.

About This Course

In Los Angeles County, restaurants that want to serve and sell alcohol must obtain a Conditional Use Permit (CUB) from the Department of Regional Planning.

If you’ve never done it before, the process can be overwhelming, complicated, and time intensive. We designed this course to introduce you to the process and walk you step-by-step through completing your application packet.

By the end of the course, you’ll have a fully built-out application with all required forms and documents that you can send to the Department of Regional Planning for review and approval.
