Get Started

Permit expediters typically charge more than $3,500 to help eating establishments obtain a CUB from the City of Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

For new restaurants working on limited budgets, we wanted to offer an alternative.

This self-guided permit course will introduce you to the process and then walk you through building your CUB application. It includes:

  • Application form download pack.
  • Video tutorials for each form.
  • A downloadable PDF instruction guide.

Two options with consulting hours are also available for those who want additional support.

About This Course

In the City of Los Angeles, restaurants that want to serve and sell alcohol must obtain a Conditional Use Alcoholic Beverage (CUB) from the Department of City Planning.

If you’ve never done it before, the process can be overwhelming, complicated, and time intensive. We designed this course to introduce you to the process and walk you step-by-step through completing your application packet.

By the end of the course, you’ll have a fully built-out application with all required forms and documents that you can send to the Department of City Planning for review and approval.
